232 projects with professional organisations
In 2019, the Centre for the Development of Occupations (CdO) assisted Swiss professional organisations with the review and revision of 145 different occupations, which is on par with the previous year’s figure. In addition, the CdO was involved in 232 projects, which far exceeds the average level of the previous four years.
Within the Swiss vocational education and training sector, the CdO provided continued support to the Swiss professional organisation for automotive bodywork, Carrosserie Suisse, in the following areas: drafting of VET ordinances, training plans and implementation documents for all three learning locations in dual-track VET programmes (i.e. vocational school, host company and branch training centres); detailed planning of corresponding qualification procedures; and finally, training of vocational school teachers to ensure that training content is designed to ensure the acquisition of professional competences. The CdO also continued to support the Swiss professional organisation representing automotive trades, Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz.
Within the Swiss professional education sector, the CdO provided assistance to the professional organisation representing companies that install ceiling and interior fitting systems. Support involved a complete review and revision of the training content and qualification procedure for the following professional qualification: Federal Diploma of Higher Education, Ceiling System Installer.
In 2019, the CdO was commissioned to manage the creation of the Netzwerk Kleinstberufe association. The meeting to establish the association was held in Bern in September. The association is currently comprised of 13 professional organisations representing the interests of micro-occupations. The association’s aim is to provide even better mutual support for micro-occupations and to ensure the provision of advice and services in the long term through financially self-sustaining structures.
