Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education and Training

With the Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education and Training, you will acquire the skills to shape working life in the digital age. You will expand your understanding of the Swiss VPET system and how it is managed and will learn how to professionally lead VET projects. The programme lasts eight semesters. You can complete it while working.

As an expert in vocational education and training, you will be able to greatly contribute to forward-looking projects and high-impact initiatives involving schools and skills development. Playing a key role in the digital transformation of work, the economy and society, you will contribute your expertise to help learners, VET professionals, team leaders and trainers.

Studies at a glance

Study mode and duration

8-semester part-time programme (alongside gainful employment), 180 ECTS.
Part-time study is compatible with gainful employment. We recommend a maximum employment level of 50% of a standard workweek of 41 hours.

Start

This programme is offered every two years. It is possible to enter the programme each year in the autumn semester by arrangement with the programme director.

SFUVET supports the national and international mobility of students.

Admission

The prerequisite for admission is an academic, vocational or specialised baccalaureate. Holders of an equivalent qualification may also apply for admission. Find out more about the enrolment procedure. The programme has room for thirty students.

Career prospects

As a VET expert, you will be able to take on tasks related to VET programmes and further development of the VET system. Future employers include government agencies, professional organisations, trade associations and vocational schools.

Other options include certification to teach language, communication and society courses after completing your Bachelor's degree or continuing on to the MSc in Vocational Education and Training programme.
