Vocational school teachers have a key role to play in the implementation of digitalisation projects as they are the ones who will teach new digital skills in the classroom. For this reason, SFIVET launched its trans:formation programme to facilitate the digital transformation in around 225 vocational schools across Switzerland.

A key aspect of this federally funded programme are Digi-Check workshops, which enable digital skills to be systematically assessed and suitable digital transformation measures to be decided. Digi-Check workshops cater to the specific needs of vocational schools. In 2019, SFIVET organised Digi-Check workshops in over 100 vocational schools all over Switzerland. This clearly shows that vocational schools are keenly interested in this type of assessment.

SFIVET also provides vocational schools with follow-up project support based on Digi-Check results and school objectives. As a case in point, such projects have given rise to digitalisation initiatives, e-learning strategies or training courses to improve the digital skills of vocational school teachers. SFIVET designs and organises training courses to suit the specific needs, educational focus and desired outcomes of each vocational school. These training courses can be held at the vocational schools themselves or at SFIVET locations upon request.
