Vocational Pedagogy

This course aims to provide a foundation for vocational pedagogy. To this end, the participants will be led to question the issues surrounding professional instruction and quality teaching in terms of competence development.

The course consists of exchanges with experts from Switzerland and the international community. The key topics covered in this course are issues of competence development, transversal competences and learning in an informal context. Visits to training companies and other training locations in Switzerland are also an integral part of the course.

Target audience

Professionals involved in the definition and implementation of public policies in the field of competence development systems. These include, among others:

  • employees of ministries responsible for technical and vocational education and training, skills development, employment, finance or other supervisory ministries who oversee training activities;
  • representatives of employers' and workers' organisations;
  • members of civil society organisations and non-governmental organisations working in the skills development sector;
  • representatives of public-private institutions;
  • managers of technical and vocational education and training facilities
  • professionals in educational relations, teachers, trainers, educational psychologists, guidance counsellors, educational advisers or tutors in different training places such as companies, schools and training centres;
  • staff of international cooperation institutions and agencies.
Calendar

First part at a distance

The first part will take place online from X to X November 2023 with one session per week.

Second part in person 

The second part will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, from X to X November 2023.

Full course (including registration and examination fees): CHF 2'100

 

Please note:

Travel, meals and accommodation costs for the block of courses held in Lausanne are at the expense of the participants.

Certification

Module certificate with a value of 4 ECTS credits

This module is an integral part of the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) - Intervention in skills development systems organised jointly with the International Training Centre (ITC) of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

This CAS is itself part of a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) -  Spécialisation en formation professionnelle also organised jointly with the ITC-ILO.
