The results show the importance of investing in the psychosocial aspects of wellbeing and in measures in four particular areas: occupational development and training of staff, health and safety, positive social relationships and work-life balance. With regard to training and development, investment in all stages of the professional career path is advisable, for example, training, occupational socialisation, induction into new departments after organisational change and reintegration and continuing training courses. Continuing training programmes can contribute towards improving health and safety at the workplace. A better work-life balance is required for all nursing staff, including those without family responsibilities.
