Innosuisse project: Innovative Learning Concepts

Versatile skills are playing an increasingly important role in a rapidly changing world of employment. Acquiring such skills is not only a key priority for apprentices in vocational education and training (VET), but also for well-established companies who are increasingly focusing on equipping their employees with such skills. They aim to provide staff with versatile skills through continuing education and training (CET) courses. But how can VET concepts be transferred to employees who have already acquired expert knowledge over many years?

A study being funded by Innosuisse and carried out at SFUVET aims to provide answers. A team of researchers, who have focused intensively on innovative learning cultures within companies, aims to provide SMEs with the very latest findings on teaching versatile skills. This project analyses in-house learning cultures in various enterprises to determine how independent and intrinsic learning practices can be promoted.
