Relieving the burden on host companies by easing regulations

How can the administrative workload for host companies be reduced while maintaining high training standards? A team at SFUVET – in cooperation with the consultancy firm ‘BSS Volkswirtschaftliche Beratungen’ – has been addressing this issue. The analysis of the situation in the host companies initially revealed that significant differences exist between the occupations. The host companies invest between two and six days per apprentice each year. Smaller host companies have less workload than larger ones but are less satisfied with the cost-benefit ratio than their larger counterparts.

The final report also contains a set of specific recommendations. For example, they suggest that training curricula should take the perspective of host companies into account to a greater extent, joint digital platforms and portals should be used and courses for vocational trainers should be optimised. The specific measures will be implemented under the leadership of the TBBK (Tripartite Conference for Vocational and Professional Education and Training).
