Support for innovation at SFUVET

SFUVET promotes a culture of innovation in all service areas and in the university administration. It has set up an innovation fund to systematically support initiatives and projects undertaken by its employees.

SFUVET has an innovation fund to systematically support innovations by its employees. Backing is given to innovation projects which contribute to the successful implementation of the Strategic Guidelines 2021–2028, the Strategic Multi-Year Plan 2025–2028 and the Strategic Goals of the Federal Council for the SFUVET Board for the Years 2021–2024  and for 2025 to 2028. Thus, monies from the fund are used to support initiatives and projects in the following categories:

  • Lifelong learning
  • Digital transformation
  • Sustainable development
  • Recognition of Swiss vocational education in a national and international context

In 2024, the following initiatives and projects are receiving support:

Lifelong learning

  • Development of socio-emotional competences by vocational school teachers: pilot project to promote 21st century competences.

Digital transformation

  • Virtual reality in vocational education: Guidelines for the creation and use of immersive and interactive 360-degree videos
  • Technical discussions with virtual reality

Sustainable development 

  • Practical examples of compensating for disadvantages at the three learning locations

Recognition of Swiss vocational education in a national and international context

  • "International study trip " pilot project – Positioning of SFUVET and enhancement of course offer
  • "Next Level: Vocational education" – Use of gamification to present apprenticeships at public exhibitions
