SFIVET’s new Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree programme in vocational education and training successfully entered the implementation phase in the autumn semester 2019 with a group of 19 highly motivated and interested students. SFIVET offers this BSc programme every two years as a part-time course of study lasting eight semesters.

Like its big brother, the Master of Science (MSc) degree programme in vocational education and training, the BSc programme is unique within the Swiss education landscape. The BSc programme will focus on the digital transformation of vocational education and training. It is intended for those who wish to acquire the knowledge, skills and know-how required to perform demanding tasks at the crossroads between VET and Work 4.0. Once they complete their training in the BSc programme, graduates will be qualified to provide support in education projects, manage education and training processes or facilitate the digital transformation in larger companies, government agencies or vocational schools.

The new BSc programme conveys specialist content highlighting the relationship between working life, vocational education and training, people and society. Great importance is given to the acquisition of interdisciplinary skills such as self-management, cooperation skills and conflict management. The BSc programme is highly practical in nature through a combination of in-house project work and external internships. In all of these areas, emphasis is placed on the opportunities and challenges of digitalisation both in workplace training and in working life.
