About LIFT

Young people who may find it difficult to successfully transition to working life after leaving school are already identified towards the beginning of lower-secondary education. These youths are usually provided with individual support up until completion of their year of compulsory education. The core elements of the LIFT project are regular, voluntary short-term assignments during school breaks - referred to as 'weekly workplaces' – in which young people work at local businesses in the respective region. Young people are selected by their teachers on the basis of LIFT criteria. Specialists then prepare them for their workplace assignments and provide guidance as needed.

Project evaluation

SFUVET's Evaluation Unit has been externally evaluating the LIFT youth project since 2007.

Different methodological approaches and evaluation criteria are used, depending on the questions asked and the level of advancement of the project.
