School-Business Training Program

Since 27 March 2015, a team of Swiss VET specialists has been helping the Senegalese government to design training pro-grammes based on the Swiss dual-track VET model

The President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, has established a national target to be reached by 2025 whereby 30% of all young people coming out of lower-secondary education enrol in technical and vocational education and training.

This project entails the provision of strategic and operational support to the Senegalese Ministry of Employment, Vocational Education and Training and Craft (MEFPA) as well as guidance enabling training programmes based on the Swiss dual-track model to be developed and introduced in Senegal through the Senegalese School-Business Training Program (PF2E)

The School-Business training program (PF2E) aims at strengthening the capacities of training companies and public and private partner institutions; promoting specific occupations; encouraging public-private partnership dynamics; managing the collaborative ties that are a characteristic feature of dual-track VET programs.

SFIVET expertise in Senegal covers the following areas: provision of pedagogical and didactic training to vocational school teachers and trainers, workplace trainers and examiners; provision of methodological support in the development of training plans for dual-track VET programs; fostering a public-private partnership within the Senegalese VET sector..

  • Partenaires

The mandate was funded by the Sub-saharan Africa and Francophonie Division (DASF) until 2019. The main partners in Senegal are the Ministry of Employment, Vocational Education and Training and Craft (MEFPA), through the national School-Business program (PF2E). The Swiss Embassy in Dakar is the Swiss local contact point.
