COM SFIVET

SFIVET launched the extensive trans:formation programme in 2018, which aims to familiarise vocational school administrators and teachers with new learning technologies. The programme is part of the federal government’s funding priority to digitally transform vocational education and training. As such, the Confederation will provide SFIVET with additional funding for 2019 and 2020. The programme consists of three main areas of focus: the Digi-Check analytical tool, follow-up project support and tailor-made courses for schools and teachers.

The SkillsNet networking platform will be further expanded to facilitate the simple exchange of information, ideas, best practice experiences, data and knowledge among VET stakeholders.

With Digi-Check, SFIVET offers vocational schools a structured procedure to systematically identify and decide on measures to achieve the digital transformation. Large group events are organised and individually tailored to suit the needs of individual schools. By 31 December 2018, SFIVET had received over 90 requests from vocational schools wishing to undergo a Digi-Check. Initial meetings were held with about 40 of these schools in 2018.

Finally, SFIVET offers a wide range of courses to help vocational schools and teachers develop new and practical learning activities. SFIVET adapts these courses to suit the individual needs of vocational schools. In this manner, vocational schools can improve the quality of their courses and create optimal conditions for the digital future.
