A high-profile Indian delegation visit SFUVET

A high-profile Indian delegation visit organised by SKIP (Skills for Progress) has taken place at SFUVET in Zollikofen. SKIP is an All India Association for Private Vocational Training Institutes established in 1969, under the Mysore Societies’ Registration Act 1860, to develop vocational training for disadvantaged, illiterate and poor young men and women who have dropped out of school.

The delegation has chosen to come to Switzerland to gain an in-depth understanding of the Swiss Vocational Education and Training system. The goal of the visit was to explore opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and mutual growth in the area of vocational education and they were impressed by the input from Dr Francesca Amenduni, senior researcher at SFUVET on the topic of Virtual Reality as an innovative tool in vocational training.

The visit spurred fruitful discussions about the potential for collaboration and shared initiatives. Both parties recognised the potential of integrating the strengths of the Swiss VET system and the emerging capabilities of the Indian vocational training landscape.

«The exchange has been immensely insightful. We are very inspired by the Swiss dual education model and the effective use of VR in vocational training. This could be highly beneficial to enhance the efficiency and quality of our vocational training back in India»
Joseph Stanley Francis
General Secretary, Skills for Progress (SKIP)

While no concrete partnerships have been confirmed at this point, the successful visit has paved the way for potential future collaboration.
