Study visit of a delegation from Uzbekistan
Switzerland supports the reform of the VET system in Uzbekistan through the VET4UZ project, in which SFUVET is an expert partner.
VET4UZ focuses on quality assurance, teacher training and collaboration between government and private sector actors. The overall aim is to improve the employability of Uzbek youth and, as a result, to enable them to access better paying jobs.
Within the framework of the VET4UZ project, a delegation of high-level representatives of the Uzbek government came to Switzerland for a study visit organised by the SFUVET. The programme included meetings with federal (SERI and SFUVET) and cantonal (BIZ Thun and GIBB in Bern) public institutions as well as with the hotel industry (HotellerieSuisse and the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne) and the health sector (Oda Santé Bern).
The study week identified further ways to develop vocational training in Uzbekistan and joint activities with SFUVET in April, June and September.
