GEWA’s vision is: “surpassing ourselves.” GEWA believes everyone possesses the talents and skills required to make a valuable contribution to a company. A GEWA skills model was defined based on this premise. The relevant list of skills was carefully selected for the social services sector and can be used as a tool on a day-to-day basis. One of the four skills areas is leadership skills. This skills area includes 5 core skills which together make up the general understanding of leadership. This common understanding of leadership – together with the related skills – provides GEWA with the foundation for achieving its vision.

GEWA has already held various workshops and knowledge transfer events on the path to developing this commonly adopted understanding of leadership. The next step is now a review of the current situation, measures building upon this and a fresh analysis of potential development progress. SFUVET’s Evaluation Unit is carrying out this evaluation in cooperation with the Institute for Competitiveness and Communication at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland.
