Individually designable, practical and contemporary

Two trees and two shoots

In autumn 2019, SFIVET’s Training Division successfully launched its new vocational pedagogy training courses after completing revision of its training concept and syllabuses.

In concrete terms, this means that participants in these courses now have much greater freedom in shaping their own training trajectory, e.g. through the newly introduced personal training project. Participants can initiate their project at the start of their training and take their personal interests into account. The project then serves as a common thread throughout the entire duration of the training and culminates in the final diploma thesis.

All SFIVET lecturers now base their teaching on the situational didactics model and can thus target their lessons even more on the acquisition of practical skills. Situational didactics is a pedagogical-didactic approach developed by SFIVET that is designed to recreate typical working situations in the classroom. The vocational school teachers attending these courses are then able to transfer situational didactics concepts directly into their own classrooms.

Finally, the revised vocational pedagogy training courses take into account the latest developments and innovation trends within the VET sector. Topics such as the ongoing digital transformation, cultural diversity or the ability to teach bilingually are all covered in these training courses, which makes studying at SFIVET both a modern and challenging experience.
